Problem:
MANY Sea-Doo 4-TEC & SC 4-TEC engines are effected by bad oil pressure sensors. Sea-Doo does NOT have a good part at this time, and some are not being covered under warranty. Right now the parts are lasting several months before going bad again. The good news is, the part is only $20 and takes just a couple minutes to change.
Symtoms:
The Check Engine light will come on. Power will be decresed. Top RPMs will be down a couple hundred. Out of the hole performance is very lacking, similar to the learning key. Removing and replacing the lanyard will restore performance for a few seconds to a few minutes.
How to replace:
Remove the quick connect from the sensor by gently pressing the metal tab with a screw driver and pulling the sensor straight back.
Using a 23mm open end wrench, remove the sensor and replace with the new one. Torque to 12 ft. lbs.
