  • 1994 Yamaha WaveRaider Overheating Help!!!

I just recently purchased a 1994 Yamaha WaveRaider 700. At home when I hook the hose up to the flush system and start the ski it runs fine with no problems but when I drop it in the water it is not pumping any water through the engine becuase no water is coming out the hole on the side of the ski. This causes the ski to heat up, the rev limiter to kick in and the temperature guage to start blinking. I checked for clogging in the propeller and in the hoses running to the motor but all seem to be clear of debis. Also when the hose is hooked up to the flush system and the ski is running the propeller is spinning. Can someone please help me out and tell me what could possibly be wrong. This is the first ski I have every had. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time.

you said you checked the hoses, but did you check the fitting on the engine where they hook up? the hose coming in from the pump to the motor pull it at the motor and take a metal wire like a coathanger and see if its clear. Ive had them jam with sand lots of times. when in the water does water come out of the pisser?
