• Shred Master Ride Plate

To be honest, don't think they even have one for the 800. They have been talking about one for the GP1200R for about two years but nothing yet.

The website says that they sell one. The 1200 and the 800 are the same hull ( at least the 99's are ) so if someone has used it on a 1200, I will take their info also.

Has anyone had any personal experience with the Shred Master ride plate on a gp800? Good Bad or otherwise? Bottom line, is it worth the money to help with the porposing problem?

Ripped......

Make sure to check your sources. There is NOT a Shred Master available for any Yamaha to date. We have been going back and forth with them.

OK SuzanGPR
I appreciate your help, but I am tired of all the negativity. I appreciate the fact that maybe you have not seen a shred master ride plate for a yamaha. However, you also told me that you didn't think my 99 GP800 had power valves. So while I appreciate your input no matter how correct or incorrect it is, LAYOFF THE NEGATIVE CRAP!!!!! I am tired of reading it.
ok, I feel much better now.

A couple of comments. I got an order confirmation. It should ship in 5 days. The
GPR is not the only PWC Yamaha makes.
Shred Master makes ride plates for the Super Jet, Wave Blaster, and GP 760,800,1200
There is no ride Shred Master ride plate
available for the GPR now but there should be soon. It should be worth the wait though. There are reports of 4 mph increases on the
GPR.

I put one on my 98 GP800 last year. Works ok at best. Their advertising claimed that it "eliminates all porposing" no it doesn't. My ski still porposes, just not as bad. The only way to stop this machine from porposing is to keep it on the trailer! other than that it's a great machine

The shred has a 3-5 degree angle up. It will give good top end and good carving with the deep V in it , but to help porpoising you need to buy a few washers and place them between the hull and the ride plate at the rear bolts.

The 99gp800 has a very short pc of junk ride plate that actually causes more porpoising. Trash it. Put ANYTHING else on it. A stock ride plate from a 97-98 1200 will do great. Use a couple washers. I have an RD plate that will work also if you want it. Contact me at dav_dman@yahoo.com . Put your sponsons full down too.

Porpoising gone...along with about 2-3mph top end..but worth it.

As I stated above I ordered a shredmaster.
Would you say it is better than the '97-'98
OEM plate I am using now for turning, top
speed and holeshot. I agree with you that
the short OEM ride plate on the '99's is crap. The longer ride plate is a big improvement even without the extra shims. I was hoping the shredmaster was even better.
