  • Is anyone in Delaware Valley?

I got the instructions for winterization, but with the history of my ski I'm not real confident in doing it alone. The dealer is killing me with labor cost, and up here in the NE the only shop that fixes skis is the dealer in OC. (There're other dealers and THEY don't even fix them!)

Is anyone in the DE Valley? I'd like to coordinate with someone to winterize. Contact grez_dego@hotmail.com with your availability and payment requests.

Hey Ed. I live in Ventnor, NJ, which is 5 minutes from Atlantic City. About 30 minutes away is Beesley's Point SeeDoo. I've taken my ski to them twice for major work already, and they do a good job but they tack on a lot of little things and charge almost $100/hr. This is why I'm looking for a regular shop, or even better someone to teach me how to work on it. I do car engine work, but honestly I'm scared about breaking some water-tight seal or something and melting my engine.

I haven't gone as far as Trneton, but everything South of it won't touch a ski. What happened that discouraged you?

        Hey guys,
Winterizing these things is not that hard but, almost any dealer will charge you 80-100+ bucks to preform this service.

Hamilton sea doo is just outside of trenton and they are a good shop. Doug is the head wrench there and is a great guy. There is also a shop in LBI (Surf City) that has good service also. I belive Steve is the head wrench there. Woodbury Powersports also has a great wrench (Derek)

If you work on cars you can work on skis IMHO. Some things are the same and some different. If you post what year an model ski you have I can try to help on winterizing.
The inernet is like Hollywood...it lets boring people act like they are somewhat interesting.

Hey Ken, I just read it. I do work on cars, but you don't learn by doing it yourself unless you're willing to spend money to fix the things you didn't know you'd break! 92 SP. All I need is someone to show me it once, so I can ask questions, instead of reading it off a paper. In fact, I prob could have fixed a lot of things this summer if I'd known how to work on a marine engine. Beasley's Point Sea Doo $100.

I am also in the Delaware Valley. I use Kens guy (Derek) to do all my repairs/Upgrade wrenching. He is great personable and will explain to you whatevers wrong or whatever is going on with your ski, and hes fair priced. I do want to warn you about getting certain things done at Beeslys Point and/or wildwood seadoo. they have a bad history and i have had some SHI*** work done by wildwood seadoo and will never take my skis tehre AGAIN. No matter WHAT... Try going to Woodbury powersports and talking with derek. Good luck!

Hey Rob, I actually live pretty close to Woodbury Powersports and took my ski there for engine mounts but they turned me away. They said they don't do any work on skis. I ended up taking it to Beesley's for the 3rd time this season due to lack of options. The last 2 times were for pure work, and although they were priced ridiculous they solved the problems. The last time was for winterization cause I'll be damned if I'm going to blow this thing up my first seson trying to learn how to do it, but I wasn't at all impressed with the job they did. I ended up lubing the cables, greasing the engine, and pulling battery myself! They really didn't disconnect anything, or fill anything with antifreeze, so I hope de-winterizing is easier so I can do it myself. The less times I have to drive out there the happier I'll be!

I'll tell ya, the only part that scared me was "turn on engine, pour stabilizer in, kill gas, turn off water, spray fogging oil". That without water part scared me enough, plus I'll never get it cold-started on the hose!
