Bryan or Bill,
I posted a question a few weeks ago about my oil injector possibly leaking. I was getting exhaust looking soot on my flywheel. As soon as I said "soot", everybody immediatly said "exhaust leak".
I agree, it looks like exhaust gas but I don't see how it is spraying in that location. I have a 97 SPX with a Factory Pipe Spec 1. If you look at the blue coupler, even if it were to leak where the pipe mates the exhaust would not spray on the flywheel cover.
Is it possible that the oil injector could make that kind of soot deposit?
Unless the blue coupler had a hole in the bottom (which it does not) I don't see how it can deposit exhaust gas on the flywheel cover.
Any ideas?
JC
