Westcoast Muffler for 580 Seadoo

Anyone heard of these? I found a guy who is selling one and says its a good performance exhaust, Its off a 1992 XP. I have a 1994 GTS will it fit and is it worth buying. Thanks guys.

The purple seadoo pipes were made BY westcoast back then. Trust me.. You do NOT want an aftermarket pipe on that ski unless you want to tune it often and potentially have to rebuild it.. a lot!

ok this one is yellow hes selling. Mine in my ski is grey. Might have been painted but it looks stock. I don't mind tuning as i come from a racing background of sprint cars, so i'm used to that sort of thing.

Picture didn't show, for me.

If you do go with the pipe, you will need to re-jet the carbs, probably would help to add open flame arrestors and buy that solas prop.

here it is, why would i need to re-jet it? need more fuel? Or lean it out more. What is a flame arrestor?

Old school....bus.. lol.

When you add a pipe, it scavenges fuel differently. You need more fuel and usually more air. This is accomplished by jetting the carbs up and up'ing the N&S. The extra air is accomplished by removing the stock airbox and putting on K&N type filters.

These will also rev differently so sometimes you need a new rev limit controller as well.

What you have there is pretty much the same pipe that came stock on all 657-717 motors.

cool so worth adding it for a few extra hp.? whats a stock 580 hp wise anyway? MPH?

Maybe take it from 48mph to maybe 50?

hmm 50mph is respectable for 3 seater thats 16 years old. Does the Solas add any or is that more of a holeshot thing?

Solas turns the power from the pipe into power at the pump
