jet pump seal direction - orientation

I'm rebuilding a 2001 GTX 951 Jet pump. I have a new seal from SBT and it is the dual lip seal. Which direction should the tapered tip of the seals be pointed? In towards the bearings or out towards the engine?

The lip points towards the oil in the pump. An oem seal has a spring, the spring points away from the pump.
