  • 98 XP-L Lean RPM Spot?

Bill- I have your jetting kit and Proks on my 98 XP-L. I know my mechanic said your kit was Richer than stock. Is there a known lean area with this kit that I should stay away from extended cruising at? I have been staying away from 6,500- I usually go from 6,000 right to 7,000 when i,m riding and skip that 6,500 zone.

It's really not about the jetting. It has more to do with the design of the "I" serires carbs and the fuel curve. It is always best to vary the throttle setting when crusing in the mid 6000 rpm range.
