Hi:
I have a STX 1100 DI that starts and runs but suffers from low power and burns a hole in the exhaust connecting tube.(The hole in the exhaust connecting tube is not the cause of the low power but a secondary problem.) Check engine light is not on and no codes show when you run the diagnostic software. (computer is good I've tried it in another boat) I have checked the water flow through the exhaust and the inlet to the exhaust chamber all of which is clear. I'm thinking along the lines of a failed fuel injector which is dumping unburned gas into the exhaust manifold which is then igniting. Testing is getting expensive as the coupler tube lasts about 5 minutes!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
