  • 750 ride plate and jet nozzle home moddng

Hi i have a 750 xi sport with the twin carbs. I wanted to know if i could just weld a piece of aluminum onto the existing ride plate? Would that help it a bit from porposing and maybe get me a couple of mph without haveing to buy a expensive ride plate? Also I read that some ski's have aftermarket jet nozzle extender that add a mph or two. Can I also wrap a piece of aluminum around it nice and perfect and extend it a couple of inches.

Also if i can extend the plate and/or extend the jet nozzle...by how many inches should i do it? I dont want to go overboard....

Thanks For your input as always

Yes you could get out the welder and try differant combinations which may hurt or help. The rub is trying to figure out the best combination, what works and what hurts. Others did that work for you years ago. Now that the SSXi is an older model there are good used TOP BRAND NAME ride plates, intake grates and nozzles in garages and basements all over the country. Yes buying new can be expensive but buying used can be much less expensive than trying to do it yourself.

If you want to play around and experiment for cheap you can try adding washers under the rear of your current ride plate. That will force the nose down and should give some improvement.

Keep in mind you have an 8ft ski and it is an older design, no amount of parts or money will make it perform like a more modern design.
